Location of Mgahinga Gorilla National Park
Mgahinga Gorilla National Park protects the Virunga Mountains on the Ugandan part and the three peaks which include: Mount Gahinga, Mount Sabyinyo and Mount Muhavura.  Mgahinga Gorilla National Park is next to the Virunga National Park in the Congo and Volcanoes National Park in Rwanda.
Mgahinga Gorilla National Park is found in Bufumbira County in Kisoro District about 540 km from Kampala the capital city of Uganda. South of Kisoro town is about 15 kilometres from Mgahinga Gorilla National Park by road and about 55 kilometres west of Kabale by road the largest city in the sub-region.
Mgahinga Gorilla National Park is also another National Park in Uganda with the rare endangered Mountain Gorilla and its the smallest gorilla national park in Uganda with an area of 33.7 km. Which has the most scenic park in Uganda viewing the stretch north to Bwindi while the South is dominated by the steep volcanic cones of the Virungas.
History of  Mgahinga Gorilla National Park
Mgahinga Gorilla National Park was established as a Gorilla game Sanctuary in 1930 and was gazetted in 1991 making it part of the Virunga Conservation Area which is 434 km. Mgahinga Gorilla National Park connects both Volcanoes National Park of Rwanda and Virunga National Parks of Democratic Republic of Congo.
Climate of Mgahinga Gorilla National Park
Mgahinga Gorilla National Park has two wet rainy seasons from February to May and then from September to December of each year with maximum annual amount of rainfall being 250mm in October and Minimum is 10mm in July. And the rest is a dry season.
